The Natural Reserve
The Mountaineer’s Natural Reserve embraces and protects
an important remnant of the Araucaria Forest,
a vital ecosystem belonging to the Atlantic Forest biome.
Springs, rivers, fauna, and flora find in this place
a safe haven of protection and regeneration,
where landscapes of great beauty and rich biodiversity
remain preserved and alive for the next generations.
The Mountaineer
The first Brazilian to conquer the summit of Everest,
with expeditions carried out across all continents,
Niclevicz transformed his journey of adventure and discovery
into a permanent legacy of environmental protection,
actively dedicating himself to the preservation of landscapes,
of ecosystems, and of the life that exists within them.
Environmental Project
Restoring a forest
means rebuilding the conditions
for life to flourish once again.
We recover degraded areas,
reintroduce native species,
regenerate the soil,
protect water springs, and
contribute directly to the
return of biodiversity,
reviving the natural processes
that sustain the forest.
Biome
Of the vast Araucaria Forest
that once covered a large part of Southern Brazil,
only 4.3% of its original area remains today.
In the state of Paraná, the scenario is even more critical:
less than 1% of the original canopy remains
in a good state of conservation.
Waters
The Mountaineer’s Natural Reserve
is almost entirely surrounded by water,
located at the confluence of the Açungui River
and its main tributary, the Palmital.
All the headwaters of these rivers
flow from the base of the majestic Devonian Escarpment
and feed the Ribeira de Iguape River basin,
forming a valuable and essential water heritage
for Curitiba and its entire Metropolitan Region.
Protecting these waters right from their source
means safeguarding the future of the whole region.
Pollinators
Bees play an essential role in pollination,
ensuring the preservation of all biodiversity.
At the Mountaineer's Natural Reserve,
we protect and care deeply for the hives,
producing pure, certified organic honey,
generating food and income from a living forest.
